For one thing, I don't know many people who are excited to go to the Doctor as it really is a pain. Plus most folks go once a year typically on or near their birthday.

I can now afford to go to the doctor and get my myriad medical concerns addressed affordably due to the Medicare expansion that Minnesota accepted!

Am I looking forward to my upcoming colonoscopy? No, but I'm glad I can now afford to have it done!

Some lab tests aren't considered as preventive if they are coded as diagnostic treatment for an on-going illness, event if they're part of a routine physical. I just had to pay un-covered extra fees for lab work.

My husband does this for me, because at this point in my life nearly everything is a pre-existing condition. BUT my annual physical is supposed to be covered, and that includes a battery of tests whether or not they relate to prior conditions--- make sure they get coded for your annual if that is what you are there for.

I am so afraid something will happen between now and then, I wish I could fall asleep for 38 days and I would wake up as a person free of insurance company tyranny.

While I had insurance before, I didn't go for checkups ever. I started going each year now that there is no copay. People need that annual chat with a doctor about their health. Its made me wise up about my diet and exercise.
