Unfortunately I left the windows of my car rolled down a bit. It's still a good day.

(53,944 posts)My poor Chihuahuas are traumatized because the thunder is so damn loud and harsh (shaking the house).

(12,778 posts)My little Cairn did a big jump and bark at a clap of thunder earlier. She's sound asleep now, though.

(53,944 posts)It has calmed down some here, but it was lightening pretty bad. I am glad that has slowed too, but we always seem to lose power when there ain't shit happening!

(53,944 posts)...two of them looked at me like I was nuts and didn't even go out. The other two stood right by me, until the lightening struck, then it was straight for the door. I hate when they tremble.

(53,944 posts)I think my off key caterwauling takes their minds of the outside because they are now focused on the awful sounds coming from my mouth. Only my cat, the late Tony ( ) seemed to appreciate my singing, but he was/is my "bad kitty, baddest of the bad!" Well, Voodoo does like my singing "Sex bomb" because it means I am going after his sex bomb and it is time to play tug-o-war.

(21,786 posts)here in the UK we've had over a week of 24-26C (that's 75-79F...ten degrees Fahrenheit above normal, for the time of year) with a fair amount of humidity...which is not much fun in a country where no-one has air conditioning.
NaturalHigh
(12,778 posts)At least we have air conditioning, though.

(37,748 posts)In north central Texas, we had two days that had highs in the seventies last week, and were one degree off the record night-time lows for two evenings.
Yup... opening the balcony door on a July afternoon in Texas isn't the most normal thing around here, but I certainly did enjoy it!

(12,778 posts)I think I sweated off twenty pounds that weekend. It amazes me that I used to haul hay in this weather twenty years ago.

(51,076 posts)we've gotten an inch and five eights of rain so far. Our tomato plants were on the ground, propped them up and drained water out of the pool just now. Still raining but not like it was earlier. Damn our tomatoes were looking good too until this hit
