5 Right Wing Food Companies

For all the Oreo Cookies out there – companies that support gay rights, if only because doing so is good for business – there are plenty of food companies that have not come around on progressive social issues. In fact, a number of food companies are owned by far right-wingers who’ve spent significant money opposing gay rights, abortion rights, and other important causes and funding attack ads against left-leaning politicians.

The companies in question include many popular chain restaurants that you may eat at occasionally, or even all the time. It’s wise to know where your dining dollars are going.

To that end, here are five food chains that are helmed by owners who support right-wing politics.

1. Chick-fil-A
2. Carl’s Jr.
3. Cracker Barrel
4. White Castle
5. Waffle House

I don't know why they stopped at 5. Papa John's could be on the list.
Domino's was removed from the list and replaced with Cracker Barrel - explained in a correction at the end of the piece.

Eat liberally.

I avoid all of them not so much I guess because they are nut case companies but because their food is unhealthy. Even salads in these companies are loaded with cheese and salt.

2. Cracker Barrel: Only restaurant whose name most accurately describes its patrons.

The HRC voted Cracker Barrel the 3rd worst place for LGBTQI people to work. I remember seeing a PBS special on them 12 years ago and how they openly fired gay people, even going so far to have an inter-office memo stating that people who did not "demonstrate normal heterosexual values" (I'm kind of wondering how one goes about doing that) could not work at Cracker Barrel.

15. Yes! Restaurants provide you with the easiest way of "shopping local."

I can understand how some people may find it difficult to buy food from a local grocery or supplies from a local hardware store, but nearly everyone should be able to "shop local" when they go out to eat.

Not only is it bad food academically, it's poorly prepared ( greasy fried shit ) and from a chain to boot. 3 strikes.
