bogus "Impeach President Obama" talk from the idiot and hateful repugs. What exactly are the impeachable offenses? We KNOW the bush administration certainly lied us into a war. I truly feel the Dems dropped the ball by not impeaching bushie boy and darth, but that is yesterday's news. I cannot begin to describe my hatred for the repug party and their evil ways.

(65,616 posts)is something media experts need to focus on. They ruin the economy, a Democratic leader steps in and saves it...only to be impeached. Madness imo.

The Obama administration swept the war crimes committed by the Bush regime under the rug in the name of political expediency. If there is anything that approaches 'high crimes and misdemeanors' by Obama, it would have to be that - helping to hide the crimes of the prior President and his co-conspirators.

(13,218 posts)Firstly, impeachment is NOT a criminal proceeding. The politicians and the press couch it in terms so that it sounds very legal and like a trial but it's really just a vote by the Senate on whether to expel the individual from elected office. The impeachable offenses do not even have to be specified and if they are they can be anything from "high crimes and misdemeanors" to "killing his secretary in his office". But the actual offense is just for show, the real question we're asking the Senate is not, "Is he guilty of this?" but "Do we kick him out or not?" No penalty is involved other than the loss of his office.
