I'm not an expert either but it does seem logical to me.

Methane is frozen in the permafrost and/or trapped under ground.

Dark colors absorb heat and an open cavity would surely release any close, trapped gases underneath that permafrost location.

One pingo may not make too much difference but a bunch of them would be worrisome.

very interesting crater form looks more like a shaft created by high energy that cylinder shape is something special.

Or the Russians have an incredible formula to displace matter like that. If it is natural accident it reveals an incredible power if harnessed for military use.

Every where my studies take me in mathematics always leads me to some Russian that already is investigating that science of numbers in physics. The Russians are incredible at mathematics compared to Americans.
