When people find out the Kynect is Obamacare, they will either have a moment of of enlightenment, or they ... never mind. Enlightenment has three too many syllables.
"MAP SHOWS HOW KYNECT & OBAMACARE HAVE DECIMATED KENTUCKY WITH PROTECTIVE BLANKET OF INSURANCE COVERAGE
BY DAVID M. F. SCHANKULA JULY 25, 2014
For everyone concerned about how Obamacare and Steve Beshears Kynect health care marketplace would lead the entire Commonwealth straight down the road to hell where we would all exist in Obama-controlled internment camps, this map of expanded insurance coverage since the introduction of Obamas Affordable Care Act should terrorize you:"

(30,058 posts)Medicaid and set up state exchanges we still have the largest uninsured. This is Perry's record, he is a failure. Good for those in Kentucky.

(5,937 posts)Work in Ky medicaid office, I have done hundreds of Kynect apps for people. I also do SNAP apps and in 2015 SNAP will use the same application system as Kynect though there will not be a public component as there is for HBE Health Benefit Exchange/Kynect.

(1,009 posts)I don't know who did the graphic, but there are too many colors. Who decided to make the colors for every 3% increase in uninsured? It would have been far more powerful and far simpler to understand (especially for the yokels living there) if it had two colors, BLUE for 14% or lower (using the data from the graphics given, but even better if they can chop it at where the difference is in the yellow; so it could be 12%), and RED for 14% or higher (respectively, 12% or higher).
By doing so, it will show a sea of red for 2012 and then a sea of blue for 2014. And it will be very clear: in 2012, those with 12% or higher uninsured counties are... (all the red ones), and in 2014, those with 12% or lower uninsured counties are... (all the blue ones).
Otherwise, it's confusing with all the colors and their ramifications. This is clearly an issue about how to message.

Unfortunately for me, the KY Senate ads, particularly the many paid for by Mitch's guys, are playing all too often in our TV market. Thank goodness for the remote.
Sure hope Ms. Grimes can pull it off.
With Bill Clinton coming to speak for her, that should help her, if the mountain ministers don't forbid their flock to go.
Good luck!
