While guest-hosting yesterday’s edition of the Family Research Council radio show “Washington Watch,” Rep. Louie Gohmert fielded a call from a Sandy Hook truther who asked the Texas congressman to watch and pray over a video, Sofia Smallstorm’s “Sandy Hook Hoax: Ultimate Case Closed Debunked.” Sandy Hook truthers generally believe that the elementary school shooting was a hoax designed to justify the enactment of new gun laws. Gohmert was quite receptive to the caller’s suggestion: “I will sure do that, Sandy, I’m always learning new things and appreciate the input. Thanks for that thought and I will check out Sofia Smallstorm’s video and find out what it is that is so compelling.”

I enjoy wild duck, and have gone duck hunting a few times.
Actually bagged one duck on a hunt.

Hunting in the US is one of the most regulated sports, and money from duck hunting licenses goes to maintaining duck habitat.

About 125 years ago, duck hunters used "punts."



Yes, that is a cannon on the kayak-like boat.
So the "hunt" was instead a slaughter.

They were outlawed when it became obvious those "hunts" were decimating species.

Nowadays, the most firepower allowed legally are semi-auto shotguns, and they can only have a magazine of 3 shells when duck hunting.
My brother-in-law has one of those.

I have a single-shot with a hammer on the outside that must be cocked manually.

The funny part is my BIL missed all three times, I bagged the duck with my antique.
(It was made in 1910, the date is engraved on the gun.)
