Those that vape (e-cig) instead of smoke. Some advice?questions?

what is your favorite flavor? Is it because of taste or the illusion of smoking?

I smoked menthol cigs. So my juice is a smooth menthol at 24 strength.

My husband would like me to lower the strength number to 18 or even 12.

As a pretty strong smoker, lowering the level makes me nervous.

What are the pros-cons of lowering the strength level.

How can you tell if the level is too high?

As for strength level, I dunno. I just find that I naturally forget to cape and naturally use it less. I think because it's not on fire I can just put it down but with a burning cigaratte, you have a time limit so tend to suck it up before its gone.

Don't know about tobacco strength, never smoked cigarettes. But I'm glad you've quit, I have numerous friends who have given up cigs for vape.

You might be surprised. If you're nervous, just have some of the 24 handy in case you need to go back to it. Or, you could mix equal volumes of 24 and 18 to make 21, if you think going to 18 is too much of a drop all at once.

My favorite flavor is Amaretto, closely followed by Blueberry and then Vanilla. There are half a dozen other flavors I like to use occasionally for a change. I lost all taste for any tobacco flavors within a few weeks of making the switch.

Swagger from pink spot vapors. It just clicked for me a blend of sweet and smokey with maybe a hint of brandy?

Now I make my own mostly and keep doing different mixes so there isn't really a flavor I have stuck on for a while now.

My question for you would be how long have you been off regular cigs now?

After about 6 months I cut from 24 to 18 mg and I didn't even notice it. Then a few months later down to 12, then 6 a month later because I didn't notice the change to 12. Been at 6 for a while now.

Too much for me was always a mildly upset stomach and sometimes ringing in my ears or light dizziness.

As someone else above said get a small bottle of whatever you currently like most at 18 and see how it goes. Just have some 24 on hand just in case.

If you have been off cigs for at least a couple months I bet you wont notice the difference.

Best of luck!

I find I don't miss the menthol tobacco taste much. My favorite flavors are coconut and watermelon. I am 47 so it is not just a kid thing.

I would buy some 12, use it, and see what happens. If it doesn't cut it, spike the 12 with some 24. Then back off how much 24 you add until you're at straight 12. Rinse and repeat. I'm down to 0 with a couple drops of 3 added. I could probably be at straight 0, except my head keeps telling me I need some nicotine. You might be surprised at how less addicting ecigs are than real cigs.

I have found no cons to lowering nicotine, just take it as slow as you have to. The pro is that you can get to the point, without a lot of withdrawal drama, where you don't need nicotine at all. Another pro, I think, is that the vape tastes way better with lower nicotine.

I bought some 0 nic juice and gradually added it to the 12 mg. I was using, until the last bottle of it was gone. I only use 0 now. It took about 10 weeks and I was off nicotine and nicotine products for the first time in 43 years.

My favorite flavors are Extreme Chill mint and Caramel Candy (Kraft Caramels) from Mt. Baker Vapor.

It's one of the best features of vaping, the control of nicotine content.

with a back note of peach and pear with just a touch of ginger ale that I whip up.

Next is probably dragons breath.

I crapped out on tobacco flavors, just to divorced from actual smoking to care about anymore.

For me it is a combined experience thing flavor is important as the feeling of smoking.

Now as far as the step down aspect, I did but not from reasonable levels when I truly made the transfer it was with the thought of overwhelming the addiction but I still considered myself experimenting so I went with White Cloud disposables which actually go up to 54mg then drop down to 36, 24, 18, etc. So, I did the 54s and the 36s. The 54 was choker and approached OD levels if you puffed much but the 36 was gold, I could puff it without getting sick feeling and wasn't reaching for a cigarette but I still found I couldn't just casually and enjoyably puff so I dropped to 18 and found it workable except at work where my craving would return before I had a chance to puff so I jumped back to 24 and held there (though I used to keep some 36 around for drinking). Now, I've settled down and still do 18 or 24 depending on the flavor and try 12 sometimes which would work IF I could sit around puffing all day like the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland or something.

My advice is not to get to caught up in worrying about step down, the people that fixated on it early and often are more often than not smoking again from my observation. The step down success stories seem to me to be more of the "well they were out of my juice in 18 so I tried the 12 and you know what? It's fine" sort than the ones with the set agenda of reaching zero in X weeks.
I've also seen success in stepping down for the folks who can take a puff anytime they want. 6 will probably work if you can hit it at will and don't build up an overwhelming craving that can't be satiated in 10 or 15 minutes.

The main thing is not to wind up smoking. If it takes 24 from here on out then so be it, if 0 works then even better.

The people who succeed follow my advice and don't fight the addiction toe to toe, you overwhelm it like a tank and then find a level that isn't a struggle. The rest is cherry.
