Drop in uninsured people due to ACA. Result: more money coming in - perhaps resulting in better wages for nurses, workers, better equipment, more resources, and general improvement overall in hospital care. Good news, IMHO.

(9,822 posts)that it doesn't control costs in a sustainable way. Another downside, of course, is that it further establishes private insurance companies in the mix. Perhaps the greatest upside is that at last health care transformation is becoming a topic of conversation and awareness for enough people that single payer can start to become viable in more states.
