Trolls Quickly Drown ReaganBook Social Media Site In Sea Of Profanity, Pornography

A half-cooked attempt to set up a conservative social network quickly collapsed into a heap of phony accounts, crude swearing, and pornographic GIFs.

Ohio Republican Janet Porter pre-launched ReaganBook – “Facebook for Patriots” – in April, after employees from the more well-known social media site took part in a LGBT rights demonstration in San Francisco.

After several left-leaning sites, including Raw Story, publicized the launch the fledgling social network, its several dozen presumably conservative users were quickly drowned out by a flood of phony accounts (Vladimir Putin, Sarah Palin, and Manuel Noriega) and less-obviously phony accounts.

“I think they’d attract more people and less trolls if they didn’t put that brand on it of Reagan — if they called it something else,” conservative blogger Amy Jo Clark told The Daily Beast.

Many users posted profane criticisms of former President Ronald Reagan, while others posted pornographic images and GIFs.

The only discernibly sincere comments found on the site were the persistent complaints about slow load times and overall poor user experience.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]So are we becoming what we hate (trolls), too? We have no more right to disrupt their sites than they have to disrupt ours.

These trolls damage liberalism's reputation and professed philosophy of tolerance. If there's anything like calls for violence, refer to the proper authorities -- don't be crude, profane disruptors like they're known for being.

2. Trolls just want to see the world burn

so I don't think we can assume all the trolls over there are of any political persuasion. Most trolls consider themselves above all that and their trolling is to inform the world of their innate superiority--and to destroy any site where that superiority isn't instantly recognized.

The ReaganBook lady just didn't realize it takes more than one person at any startup to take care of the initial trolling and ban the scumbags. That the site got buried so quickly by 4chan and Reddit bottom feeders is proof of her naivete, not proof of some liberal conspiracy.
