Retribution, Anticipation, and Diplomacy.

My all time favorite clip from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is from the intro to the 6th Radio Episode:

The history of warfare is similarly subdivided though here the phases are retribution, anticipation, and diplomacy.

Thus, retribution: “I’m going to kill you because you killed my brother.”

Anticipation: “I’m going to kill you because I killed your brother.”

And diplomacy: “I’m going to kill my brother and then kill you on the pretext that your brother did it.”


DU rules say we can't talk about "diplomacy", but the news from Florida and Oklahoma is sure full of Anticipation. And therein lies the root of the sickness: Whites are so afraid of injustices done that they feel they need to arm themselves to the teeth in preparation for the inevitable Day of Retribution.
