2. Rays gave Price to Detroit for damn little.

Got a #5 pitcher, a SS who bats .200, and Detroit's #3 prospect, a SS who's only 18 and a looonnng way from being major league ready. We were already deep in pitching, needed a bat and speed.

14. Well, I understand why we couldn't keep him.

His salary will go from $14-$20 million next year, and in '16 he becomes a free agent. Couldn't afford him, and his trade value was highest now. But we didn't get much in return... that's the pisser. A #5 starter-we're loaded with pitching. A SS who bats .200- we're loaded there too. And an 18 year old kid who's years from playing in the majors, if at all... he's no Wil Myers.

I think he's the only guy they got left. The tried to trade Ted Williams to the Yankees too but he was deemed to young to make the Yankee's current roster.

16. With today's big trade,

I'm going to be severely disappointed if the A's don't win it all this year. Billy Beane said it himself--it's time to win now. After this year, their window for another playoff run is likely to close. I know that Cespedes probably wasn't going to stay here forever, but I'm not sure if I like this trade.
