BFD: "Incompetent" Black Man Leads US Economy to Solid, Sustained Growth

While John Boehner's Republican House is preparing to sue the President for doing his job, and the mainstream media's Left side is busy agreeing with Fox about how incompetent the black President is, the results of this President Obama's hard work insist on... happening: The economy grew at a strong 4% rate in the second quarter of 2014, outpacing analyst estimates by almost a full point.

snip

The news that is even more encouraging than the topline GDP growth number is where it came from: consumer spending, business investment, and exports. Consumer spending growth doubled since the first quarter, business investment growth grew by more than a factor of 3, and exports saw a near-20-point swing.

snip

We have come here in less than six short years after the greatest economic calamity this country has ever seen, save for one. We have arrived here not only without creating a war bubble but while actually deflating the war bubble by ending wars. We have come here while withering devastating obstructionism from one of the country's two major political parties. We have come here despite the media-Republican complex's best efforts to break the economy so that they could hurt the President.

This is because while nearly everyone else has been busy trying to generate clicks, the President has worked day and night to generate jobs. This is because while the media has been busy looking for poutrage, this president has used his blood, sweat and tears to look for solutions. This is because while an entire political party has been dedicated to destroying his presidency, this president has dedicated himself to rebuilding our country. This is because while the political and media establishments have focused their eyes on the ups and downs of meaningless polls, this president and his team have kept laser focus on lifting our economy.

Bravo Mr President! Bravo! Despite the GOP trying to destroy every American and beat us all into submission, we are growing. And yes, that is a BFD!

Few know where that came from, and I won't tell them, because they would only go further to express their inner hostilities, as they are doing just what the speaker said about those trying to bully others.

Gawd, I hate what the rightwing and its handmaiden, the CT media, has done to good intentioned people, enslaving them with memes and telling them they are telling TheTruth© and there is no other out there. They are convinced that those who don't ascribe to their world view, which is the mindset of a cult, are the enemy to be disdained and insulted at every opportunity, as if that is going to save the world. It's a reactionary rightist technique, yet they don't get it.

Just repeating the memes until people think they have found an ultimate truth to pound others over the head with and commit to original thinking, is what that is. But that's not the way enlightenment works. All that the pound-ee will do is resist or flee, and the pound-er will continue or think they are the winner of the ultimate troll prize, silencing your opponent.

The human brain in free thinking mode exists in constant connectivity to all the spheres of life and experience, from philosophy to how to repair a car or hike in the wilds, with emotion, logic and knowledge that is neutral and not biased to the desire of the speaker, and then the ability to synthesize all of that to create things. FUD is used to stifle that and I do not respect the motives of those using it. To bully or degrade shuts off the paths to perception and true achievement.

Which I contend that can only be accessed by the willingness to love the person to whom one is listening, to take the journey with open eyes and open heart to learn what it is like to walk in their shoes to help one grasp how one is walking in one's own. That is the meaning of the word 'Namaste' and if that is accepted and given, one does not retreat from it. PBO is not given a chance by many who discuss him in terms that show they never thought about higher ideals or take them seriously, just saw them as sounds without the infinite use of those ideals. They deny human aspirations of which they could easily become a part and be fulfilled by.

Truth doesn't come from cynicism or bullying, nor the hyped up versions of it from media since they narrow human perception. Truth and dogma don't occupy the same place in any reality.

JMHO.

We complain about a President working with the Congress and trying to work with the financial power structure that keeps the nation going. He is a pragmatic leader whom many on the left seem to want him to be the dictator he is accused of being by the opposition. He can't win no matter what he does or does not do. The man is trying his best to lead a divided and powerful nation with a wide range of diverse interests and needs. The bar for this President has indeed been raised to historically unprecedented levels...and mainly by those who don't even measure up to his shoe laces.

He campaigned against it and then broke every promise he made. Don't give me this "poor Obama...the republicans might filibuster". Then freakin let them. Obama never used to bully pulpit to take his case to the American people. Why do you think that is? He never voiced it like Reagan did. He didn't try because he didn't want to. It's all charades. The guy is fighting TOOTH AND NAIL to keep NSA from being reformed, to keep banks from being prosecuted, from holding Bush/Cheney accountable and to keep and recreational marijuana from being legalized. Ive seen some crazy rationalizations of Israel supporters justifying killing kids in Gaza. I couldn't grasp how they could eloquently weave such faulty arguments but they did. And it seems as if we do to. I didn't want to believe Obama betrayed us or won't fight for us but those who support him do because they believe what they want to believe...that he is working for us. Good luck with that.

Rearguing Obamas flip flops and kissing republicans feet especially military contractors, banksters, NSA and unethical law enforcement corrupted by drug war dollars doesn't need to be rehashed here again. The general consensus has been that we were sold up the river by another business as usual politician. So he's not Rush Limbaugh. Big deal. That had nothing to do with what we voted for.

Yes. That had been the view here. Utter disappointment. Trying to equate us with Fox News to try and bolster your argument with false dichotomy guilt by association tactics should be beneath any of us. You will never convince me to buy into your perspective.
And yes this was rehashed for years here. I'd say about 75% of those here felt Obama betrayed us. How many promises broken do you need? It's been settled. Go shill for Mr Brennan if you're so adamant. Maybe a proNSA or advocation of attacking Syria editorial by funding extremists. I don't measure success by who someone is not but by who they are. I'd recommend that for ones personal life as well. Enjoy your memes and unicorn fantasies. Like I said some of us live in the real world where there are real world consequences.
And Our system is so corrupt at this point it's going to take a groundswell from the grass roots and not from smokey backslapping back rooms, self-congratulatory cocktail parties or Internet commenting for that matter. I just saw a photo on DU today of a very young Bill Clinton drinking a beer with Bush Sr and George Walkace circa '78-82' and it said it all to me. It's one big club and certain players are manipulating the process. Our JFK Jrs, Paul Wellstones, Alan Grayson's and Russ Feingold's get sidelined not because they can't win but because they are pushed down.
I know Obama could easily have taken his case to the people to at least look like he was trying but he never did. For someone who sounds like a teenage girl gushing over him he sure did decide not to embrace his bully pulpit tactics. NSA is bipartisan as is drug war reform and he's going to still tow the line for those agencies ? We live in different worlds.

Your thinking here explains much.

So how does this work exactly? Is one supposed to only side with people, say, at one's income bracket or above? Should that be adjusted for local cost of living? And how do assets figure into the picture? Or is it just income? I'd appreciate some sort of formula so I'll know whose side to take.

So FDR was, indeed, a traitor to his class! Elizabeth Warren too.
