On Thursday, the second anniversary of his father being shot dead in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jake England took to Facebook to rage about the 'f****** n*****' who killed him.

The next night, England, 17, and his friend, Alvin Watts, 32, went on a random shooting rampage in the neighborhood where England's father died, shooting five black people -- killing three of them, according to police.

The attacks terrorized the black community and African-American community leaders in Tulsa called the crimes racially-motivated. England's posts on his Facebook wall could shed light on what drove the men to allegedly gun down five strangers.

April 5, 2010, Carl England, 47, showed up at the apartment complex where his daughter lived with her boyfriend. The boyfriend had gotten into a fight Pernell Jefferson, 40, and had hit him with a baseball bat, the Tulsa World reported at the time.
Jefferson, who had been in prison on drug and weapons charges, then tried to break into the couple's apartment but left, saying he planned to 'settle the dispute.' England and his daughter's boyfriend went looking for for Jefferson at the apartment complex. When the found him, England hit him with a stick and knocked him to the ground. Jefferson pulled out a gun and shot England in the chest, the World reported, killing him.
Jefferson, who is black, was arrested the next day when he showed up at a hospital. He was convicted of pointing a firearm. He is serving a six year prison sentence in the shooting.

By the way, Oklahoma is a stand your ground state with a law that is largely a "copy" of the Florida law!

Had Zimmerman not been shielded from prosecution by family connections he would not have been legally able to posess the gun he had. If nothing else comes of all this I would hope for some frank public dialog about privelege due to connections and the misuse of position in our society.

there's more to the story than this young mans expletive deleted. the shooter of his father was defending himself against an attacker and granted should not have possessed a weapon. zimmerman had been arrested for what is construed by me as a felony, violence against a police officer, yet he had a ccw. the shooter of this man's father should not have had a weapon either and was arrested on the spot. same law as florida,different outcome based on race. america is a hate crime.

An ex-convict who is implicated in a deadly shooting was found at a hospital Tuesday seeking treatment for injuries he received in a fight just before the slaying.


Pernell Demond Jefferson is accused of shooting Carl England, 47, during an ongoing fight at the Comanche Park apartment complex Monday night. England went to the neighborhood to help his daughter after Jefferson tried to break into her apartment, according to his arrest report.

Jefferson, who is either 37 or 38, suffered head and arm injuries in the scuffle and sought treatment at St. John Medical Center the next day. Someone spotted him and called police, who arrested him about 2:20 p.m., the report states.

Officer Jason Willingham said a murder complaint against Jefferson is pending. His attorney, Scott Hjelm, did not immediately return a call for comment.

The shooting stemmed from a scuffle between Jefferson and Damien Neal, who is England’s daughter’s boyfriend. Neal told officers that he hit Jefferson with a baseball bat before the attempted break-in, police said.

Jefferson then left to find a gun, saying he would come back to “settle the dispute,” the report states. Meanwhile, England arrived and went looking for Jefferson with Neal. The men soon found him and another confrontation unfolded. England struck Jefferson with a stick, police said, and Jefferson opened fire after falling to the ground.

England was hit in the chest and died at a hospital. His death was Tulsa’s 11th reported homicide of 2010, police said.
