Catch 22 for Store Directors--From Save Market Basket fb page

Catch 22 for Store Directors

Friday afternoon late, Felicia Thornton sent out an email to all Store Directors telling them to accept grocery, perishable and produce loads from the warehouses. She further stated that their job was to receive the loads and merchandise the product. She further stated that the Store Directors should schedule help for their stores according to current store volume. It is the Store Director's responsibility to make their production numbers.

Knowing that F&G have taken out full page ads for a job fair on Monday and Tuesday next week and among those positions that they will be hiring for are Store Directors and Assistant Store Directors (not one of the 71 Store Directors or Assistant Store Directors have left their jobs) this puts these Store and Asst Store Directors in a catch 22.

Felicia has directed that these people make production which is an impossible task because F&G's leadership has caused the company to lose 90% of their volume due to the customer boycott and the failure of F&G's temporary workers and drivers to get product to the stores. So the Store Directors are left with little choice here and from what we understand their emails with questions to Felicia have gone unanswered.

Do the Store Directors lay off their people? Good people that work hard and are simply caught in the middle of this or do they give F&G a reason to fire the Store Directors for not following through on her directive? WAMB suggests that each Store Director contact the Labor Department in their state of business on Monday morning and tell the Labor Department that they are in fear of losing their job for failure to follow through on a directive that is impossible to follow through on.

This is simply another example of F&G trying to scare our associates with replacement of their job. Apparently their CEO owners manual tells them that threatening employees is the best course of crisis management and deflecting blame from themselves and their own poor decision making.

Oh, and this just appeared on fb from Long Island
