My confusion over certain Christians who Psychologically Split the Jewish State of Israel with Jews

I am a Methodist/Presbyterian who, along with their mother (Catholic), are raising our children primarily under the Catholic faith.

I have observed certain behaviors which perplex me and I would like others more astute to explain what I witness:

1) A lot of Catholics and Protestants like to visit Israel, and when they return speak glowingly of it.

2) They strongly support the Jewish state of Israel.

3) Many of them will then speak abhorrently about Jews who live in the U.S., using the K*** slang term, blaming them for the death of Christ, speaking of how they 'own' the media and banks, etc.. All of the bad things we've all heard being said at one time or another.

I have heard from a few evangelical acquaintances that the Jews and Israel are needed for the Revelation to occur.

I have researched the whole banking system, and there was some show detailing it, citing how it wasn't proper for Christians to charge interest so many banks hired Jewish managers to loan money since they were not going to heaven anyway. This led to the ability for Jews to escape the poverty areas they were forced into in the early 20th century, as these bank managers began loaning money to others in their community, including investments in movie companies.

I am at a complete loss how some church-going people can hold such opposing views and it's associated anger.

(With the sensitivity of this topic... I'm sure it will get put up for Jury vote... just because.)

I'm curious what dynamics are in place that allow people to harbor such opposing thoughts and how they justify the conflicts between them.

But, let's face it, the atheist community has been attracting some stick for similar attitudes in respect of other subjects. I think you just have to put it down to humans finding it very difficult to connect one set of beliefs with another set. This sort of cognitive dissonance is incredibly common and part of being human - unfortunately.

So, in the Middle East, Israel is good vis-à-vis the Muslim countries. Meanwhile, in the US, there aren't many Muslims to hate (other than Obama!), so the Jews get the venom.

Plus for Biblical "prophesy" to be fulfilled with the rapture, Israel must be Jewish. So, they'll support the Jews in Israel in order to get their ticket to heaven. Of course no Jews will be allowed in heaven.

Many people I know are racists and hate some black people (American Blacks) but love the occasional African black person they encounter. My take is, they like (fill in the blank) when they are in their place. Blacks in Africa or Jamaica, Jews in Israel. And as another poster remarked maybe these hypocrites you worship with hate Arabs and Persians more.
