What do you expect the Senate will do with the report from the CIA regarding torture?

Especially since the Director of the CIA said that 5 people (2 lawyers and 3 IT people) intercepted the information from the Senate Committee thru the computers of their staff??

What should the Senate be inclined to do? What will the Senate be inclined to do?

Will they drop it with a promise to never do it again?

Or will they finally say that someone has to be held responsible? After all, there was all kinds of evidence of torture from the Bush years. And no one was held responsible. One might have thought that they had learned their lesson and would never do anything like that again? One may argue that stealing information from the Senate oversight committee is nowhere near as bad as torture of prisoners under our control? But it is bad enough to warrant some type of punishment or retribution.

What do you think the Senate will do??

They are just hunky dory with it, they are above it all or the CIA has plenty on them.

Not even a sternly worded letter as far as the actual torture goes. But a major snit about the 'executive' spying on Congress, mainly because Obama chose (poorly in my books, but so be it) to express his 'confidence' in Brennan. I think it's more likely that the administration has very little, if any, control over 'the intelligence community', and this was just the CIA getting its rogue on.

It will be interesting to see which Senators want a meaningful investigations and which ones want to mouth platitudes while doing nothing.

If Senate offices are flooded with calls by us to hold someone or all involved to be held responsible then they will act. If they think we don't care or are not interested - nothing will happen. This will be swept under the rug. So how incensed are you about this? Will you blow in a call to your state Senators to get them to act?
