Suspect in Oklahoma Shooting Spree: "My dad was killed by a fucking n****r"

A man was arrested this morning for the Tulsa Good Friday shooting rampage after he randomly gunned down five black victims on the second anniversary of his father's death at the hands of an African American, according to police.

Jake England, 19, and his friend and alleged accomplice Alvin Watts, 32, both white, face murder charges over the shootings in Tulsa, Oklahoma that killed three and left two wounded.

On Thursday, two years after Carl England was killed, Jake England took to Facebook to rage about the 'f****** n*****' who shot his father to death.

Later that night, England and Watts drove through black neighborhoods in northern Tulsa in a white pickup truck and gunned down five strangers near the spot where England's father died, according to police.

in the comments on this article, people are trying to say that it wasn't racially motivated killing.

this goes beyond 'denial'- something is really wrong with their thinking.

internet allows people to feel comfortable airing the craziest non-sense. I'm surprised this board has been tame compared to everywhere else over the years. There is craziness here but not nearly even close as bad as I see on ESPN message boards (which I use to find useful posts by posters that actually have relevant information on the game in-question). Mods there only work for repeated, constant spam(usually takes someone posting the same sentence over-and-over for literally a hundred times with a post per second). I remember alerting on a comment during an Illinois-Wisconsin basketball game where someone said, "This is how it should be, whites beating (he/she either self-censored or the board did which it does for swearing)" and the post was left to stand. Racist comments are posted everyday allowed to stand. As well as sexist(Baylor games are the worst where hundreds of posters speculate that Griner is a man or make comments such as, "Griner declares for the NBA" and anything else bigoted

I agree with you that in the comments you're referring to, there is something wrong with their thinking and I've always seen someone deny racism as far as they possibly could(but they're quick to find some other example and claim black-on-white racism

All that mattered was the race of the killer. Not the father's actions. Not any reasoned attempt at self-defense, flawed or justified. There's no need to worry about guilt. Any information that gets through the white killers' confirmation bias is all the evidence--a black man killed a white man, case closed. He's guilty of acting on behalf of the collective of all black folk.

All that they saw was that a white man was killed by a black man, and skin color provided both the only original motive and the only needed justification.

That's what happens when individuality and any additional context matters. Foolish, that jumping to conclusions, even if the conclusion that a crime is a hate crime motivated largely by racial animus turns out valid in some cases.

An ex-convict who is implicated in a deadly shooting was found at a hospital Tuesday seeking treatment for injuries he received in a fight just before the slaying.

Pernell Demond Jefferson is accused of shooting Carl England, 47, during an ongoing fight at the Comanche Park apartment complex Monday night. England went to the neighborhood to help his daughter after Jefferson tried to break into her apartment, according to his arrest report.

Jefferson, who is either 37 or 38, suffered head and arm injuries in the scuffle and sought treatment at St. John Medical Center the next day. Someone spotted him and called police, who arrested him about 2:20 p.m., the report states.

Officer Jason Willingham said a murder complaint against Jefferson is pending. His attorney, Scott Hjelm, did not immediately return a call for comment.

The shooting stemmed from a scuffle between Jefferson and Damien Neal, who is England’s daughter’s boyfriend. Neal told officers that he hit Jefferson with a baseball bat before the attempted break-in, police said.

Jefferson then left to find a gun, saying he would come back to “settle the dispute,” the report states. Meanwhile, England arrived and went looking for Jefferson with Neal. The men soon found him and another confrontation unfolded. England struck Jefferson with a stick, police said, and Jefferson opened fire after falling to the ground.

England was hit in the chest and died at a hospital. His death was Tulsa’s 11th reported homicide of 2010, police said.

Jefferson is held at the Tulsa Jail on complaints of attempted burglary, possession of a firearm after the former commission of a felony and an outstanding traffic warrant. His bail is set at $50,065, according to jail records.

Jefferson is a previous felon with convictions in Tulsa County dating back to at least 1992. His crimes include domestic assault, drug possession and various weapon charges, court records indicate.

And yes, as an ex-felon, Jefferson was banned from having a firearm. But if he had not had one and used it as he did, Jefferson might have wound up dead at the hands of said bat-wielding knuckle dragger.

Jefferson was hit with a baseball bat by England's daughter's boyfriend. It is not clear who started the altercation, but Jefferson, a felon who had been in trouble with the law in Tulsa County since at least 1992, announced that he was going to come back to "settle things". Carl England was called to his daughter's home after being told that Jefferson was trying to break into it. He and the boyfriend foolishly decided to pursue Jefferson, and after England hit Jefferson with a stick, Jefferson, who was not supposed to own a gun because he was a felon, shot England.

reported in various media as itself a 'baseball bat'. So maybe it's a stick in the (Teddy) Roosevelt sense of "walk softly but carry a big stick."

Yes, Jefferson as a felon was not supposed to have a firearm. But if he were being attacked by a baseball-bat wielding Pere England but did not use the firearm, Jefferson might have himself wound up dead. I'll take 6 years in the klink over death by beating any day.

In reality that frontier had a slew of local gun regulations. Nope, the real Dodge city did not have cowboys walking around with irons strapped to their side, and the most commonly used weapon, like in the rest of very recent history, was not a pistol...lousy range. It was a shotgun, and they were not brought to town that much either.

Why shotgun you might ask? Descent reach and perfect for putting meat on the table with small game, read rabbits, squirres and some foul.

I know Hollywood has created that myth, but it is historically inacurate. Little House on the prairie, where revolvers are very rare, and riffles and shotguns a little less rare, with all it's problems, is more accurate in that sense.

on the frontier- but they didn't arrive with Lewis & Clark. They were only instituted once women and children started to arrive and a civil society formed. Before that it was a self protection society. Not all of us learn our history from tv. I'm a lot too old for "Little House". Possibly my kids watched it. lol. I read the sources. Still reading and learning.

Of things like the Kansas little war and things like that.

But I was making an allusion to what the NRA refers to, which is not Lewis and Clark, but the Dodge City of the 1870s, when regulations, locally implemented, and woud drive the NRA nuts, were in place.

The wild west of Lewis and Clark again, did not use that many side arms. Trappers used harder to conceal muskets ad shotguns.

And when NRA fans point to the mythical Dodge City and the Duke...I always suggest Little House...yup, mean that way.

And even at the time of the early move West, weapons were NOT as pervasive as what drives the myth tells us.

You are right, some of us do read sources.
