I remember Republicans were really quiet just before 9/11. Heck, Cheney didn't even think there was a need to meet on the subject of terrorism. We had energy policy meetings with Enron and oil companies to schedule. And Bush needed some quiet downtime on the ranch he loved so much.
Republicans were quiet before the housing and Wall Street meltdown too. No warnings at all. In fact, McCain was assuring us that all was well as the crisis unfolded. Palin probably gave it serious thought and concurred.
I've said this before, but whenever Republicans aren't crying wolf, that's when I start to worry. I like them warning us about grave dangers like they are now. I like shrill Republican voices hysterical with dread, crying like there is a wolf at the door and the sky is falling. It's how I know things are getting better.

(13,200 posts)They do have a history of traitorous acts such as the Vietnam negotiations scam Nixon pulled and the hostage for arms deal that Reagan's group perpertrated. They already did a massive terrorist attack (LIHOP) and then they dropped the financial meltdown on us, so I just wonder what it could be.
