Protesters rally outside Hank, Jr. concert

April 9, 2012

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT)- Hank Williams, Jr. is one of Alabama's biggest allies in the continuing efforts to recover after last year's tornadoes. His comments made away from relief efforts, however, make him a villain to many people. Several of those opponents rallied outside his concert Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. The show was part of his "Taking Back Our Country" tour. They took special exception to comments Williams made about Barack Obama.

"The fact that Mr. Hank Williams called the president the enemy, that's a very unpatriotic remark and we are against that. This is a great country, and how can you call the president of this country the enemy and call yourself a patriot?" says Reverend Ransey O'Daniel of Christ Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. He along with about 10 others stood across the street from the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in a silent protest.

The group plans to review the success of the demonstration and could potentially plan future protests once they assessed Saturday's.

I wonder if these people who protested Williams, Jr. would be interested in helping folks up here in the north protest him? Calling the President of the United States of America "the enemy" is just uncalled for and he should be called out on it.
Williams is coming to the Great Mississippi Valley Fair, which draws tens of thousands people each year for grandstand shows, so if there is any kind of protest against him, it will have to be fairly large to be noticed and to protect against redneck idiots.

They have (usually) one "Rock" act per year and this year it's REO. I won't be there, that's for sure.

and I"m glad I live in a country where you can say that!

And it's my first amendment right to call the guy an overrated douchebag and to protest to the folks who run Monday Night Football to get rid of douchebags from their show (which I did and he was dropped).
