Preventing nuclear war and the deaths of millions is not our concern?

I kind of prefer the "turn the other cheek" tenet from the New Testament.
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)The NT says 'turn the other cheek' and also 'slaves obey your masters' 'gays are evil' and 'women should remain at home, silently praying for redemption'. But it is what you prefer, so that's something I guess.

(25,406 posts)But I am not that familiar with the New Testament books other than the Gospels. Is there really a New Testament verse that says unambiguously "Gays are evil"?
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)The Gospels have very little to do with organized Christianity, which is a Paulist religion giving greater weight to Paul's letters than to the inconvenient Jesus.
My entire point was actually that all of those ancient 'holy books' are full of horrific statements which are then contradicted by kinder statements. Playing 'their holy book is brutal' games is futile. All holy books are brutal.
