Getting back into Iraq could COST us the election!

Yes, the other party is horrible, but our leaders and our candidates can't just piss on what the voters we need to get to the polls care about.

We can only win by engaging the people who are in anguish about the Iraq bombing(and the liklihood of the return of boots on the ground there)and listening to them.

We can't just expect people to swallow re-entry into an unwinnable conflict in the Middle East, that the liklihood that this involvement will cause the deaths of thousands of more people without doing anything to help those we are supposedly trying to protect, just because "the other party is worse" or just by repeating, over and over, "but, the Supreme Court...but, the Supreme Court".

Of COURSE the other party is worse. Nobody disagrees with that, and that's not the point.

THIS party is supposed to be better, though. And by "better", one of the things most of us mean is
"Significantly Less Bloodthirsty".

1. Ken, the election has been lost since January.

The Rethugs are campaigning on the populist issues while the Democratic strategy has been to hope the Rethugs make a mistake and lose the election. We put our hopes and dreams into unrealistic races along with the cash desperately needed to save the Senate. As and example, Wendy Davis. I've been pointing this out for months and gotten nothing but grief. Now, I'm just waiting. The newest meme is that by losing the Senate we win big or something.

2. It's like groundhog day every election cycle. Voters get pissed and elect republicans. Republicans

destroy the economy, etc etc. Voters get pissed and vote in democrats to clean up the republican mess. Republicans smear campaign goes into high gear. Voters get pissed and vote in republicans.
