Karl Rove: Hillary Wants To Be 'The Goldilocks Of Foreign Policy'

By BRENDAN JAMES Published AUGUST 11, 2014, 4:31 PM EDT

GOP strategist Karl Rove on Monday compared Hillary Clinton to "Goldilocks" in responding to the former secretary of state's latest interview on foreign policy.

"She's trying to position herself as sort of the Goldilocks of foreign policy," Rove said during an appearance on the Fox News show "Happening Now." He went on to argue that Clinton will portray herself as more decisive than Obama but less "belligerent" than Rove's onetime boss, George W. Bush.

He added that the White House will likely view this balancing act as Clinton "covering her political posterior" in order to secure the Democratic nomination in 2016.

Rove was commenting on Clinton's interview with Jeffery Goldberg in The Atlantic, in which she faulted the Obama administration for not taking greater action in international crises such as the Syrian civil war.

politicians often try to find an in-between position or do balancing act, especially in foreign policy.

one could argue that's what good foreign policy is all about.

i've never heard a male politician be accused of being like goldilocks....
