Why am I not surprised?
Whole Foods Sued For Having Six Times More Sugar In Yogurt Than Label Claims
The lawsuit alleges that the Texas-based supermarket chain is misleading consumers by listing its 365 Everyday Value Plain Greek Yogurt as having only 2 grams of sugar. Last month, Consumer Reports analyzed six samples of the yogurt and found that the containers had 11.4 grams of sugar, on average.

(14 posts)Normally, I would file this under no big deal. It is widely known, for example, that Chilean Sea Bass is often not actually Chilean Sea Bass:

or that a good percentage of the time Angus beef is not Angus:

But, given that Whole Foods' entire brand is built around its focus on healthy, organic (also a problematic label), food and they are priced at a clear premium, this could be a problem if mislabeling turns out to be more widespread in their stores.
Could it be possible that the individual cup may have gotten a bit more sugar than other cups? I can't imagine that they make yogurt to the individual cup rather they make a huge vat full and put it into individual cups. Also is this a Whole Food item or are they purchased from a vendor? The bigger problem for Whole Foods is that once a little "oops" happens, a whole bunch of "oops'" are found and it makes for a big mess for the company. Perhaps just selling normal items like other grocery stores would be a better option for them. Dannon makes a wonderful yogurt. Perhaps selling that might stop some headaches.

(14,549 posts)The label lists 12 grams of carbs and 18 grams of protein. Doing the math, that is a total of 30 grams at 4 calories per gram = 120 calories, exactly what the label says:

So basically one number on that label is incorrect and possibly a simple mistake.
Meanwhile, one of your plaintiffs is an aromatherapist and we all know that is based on hard science, not.
