4. Asking them for details about any of their "opinions" gets them completely flustered

and they'll tell you what an asshole you are while they struggle to reboot.

My favorites are the family values crowd. Asking them what family values they have that you lack (according to them) is a sure route to a blank look while a wisp of smoke curls out of an ear.

Their dodge with Obama is saying things like "dereliction of duty." I tell them that's the name of the charge, not the crime and ask them how Obama neglected the duties of a president. Then I chuckle as they splutter out insults and walk away twirling my index finger next to my temple.

6. Bill Maher challenged two conservative guests a few weeks ago like that.

He asked them specifically what Obama should be doing but isn't. Their answers were all bullshit catch-phrases like "it's about leadership" but they could offer no substance at all. This wasn't even about a specific topic, just "what should he be doing?" in general.

Slogans are all they have.
