Sorry, Newsweek, but Ferguson does not look like a war zone to me;

this is a war zone:



Feguson looks like a place where there has been a massive police over-response to people demonstrating against police shooting an unarmed kid and a certain number of idiots taking advantage of the situation to trash and rob some local stores.

However, the war zone look and feel is conveyed by the cops who are dressing up like GI Joe, paramilitary goon. They're dressed and acting like an occupying army.

I worked a geeky job at night in a city when MLK was killed and the rioters got one floor below us. When I got off work just before 4 AM and was walking to my car, it was through a neighborhood that looked just like Ferguson does.
