Oh, and then a sniper on a tank aimed at me when I tried to ask a question about what roads were open. That happened. #Ferguson

HuffPost reporter on his arrest in #Ferguson: "He slammed my head against the glass purposefully on the way out"
A Washington Post reporter was also arrested.
Multiple officers grabbed me. I tried to turn my back to them to assist them in arresting me. I dropped the things from my hands.
My hands are behind my back, I said. Im not resisting. Im not resisting. At which point one officer said: Youre resisting. Stop resisting.
Ferguson police are insane. All of them. They are far, far gone.
Of the hundreds of RW folks we follow, @toddstarnes is literally the only one tweeting about #Ferguson tonight - all others have been silent
@RightWingWatch
So much about "tyranny" and "jack-booted thugs", huh?
Great point: Occupy was allowed to camp out in public spaces for weeks/months. Why can't these ppl protest at night? #Ferguson
@CharlesMBlow
So how many millions will the Ferguson police have to pay out in settlement costs over the next several years? I hope it bleeds those racist fuckers dry.

(45,251 posts)True, no one was killed but some landed in the hospital for doing nothing but demonstrating peacefully, two vets, among others, one who almost died.
To some extent, numbers also play a role. The majority of Americans support the police. At least, that is what I conclude from all those jury decisions in police brutality cases that get to a jury. Also impressive to me, and not in a good way, were the cheers of law enforcement after lifting of a long lock down of seven cities and towns was also impressive to me, and not in a good way. (Seven cities and towns went on "lock down" while state and local police and the feds searched for for one wounded nineteen year old (who was found by a homeowner). And, if LE did not look like an occupying force during that street by street search using tank-like vehicles, I don't know would.

The rich don't get as many cheers from the general population.

(32,723 posts)There's a particular line, "At least we didn't get dressed up for nothing."
That really fits in this case.
Those cops were going in and they were going in heavy.

(9,610 posts)I saw a video posted here where someone tossed what looked like two molotov cocktails onto the roof of a QT Mart. Later it showed the building burned out.
