Fox News claims Democrats invented the war on women because of the stimulus bill

The Fox News Channel is not known as the most reliable source of news and information, but their audience of right wing conservatives live and die with every word that comes out of every hosts mouth. Whether it's the morning crew on Fox and Friends or all the way through to the prime time hour with Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly, conservatives take the word of Fox News as gospel.

On Monday morning on Fox and Friends, host Steve Doocy, claimed that President Obama and the Democrats are making up the war on women because of the "alleged" lack of success of the stimulus bill. Media Matters provides the video for the quote below.

"The stimulus didn't work out so well, he's got a lot of problems. So in the last couple of months, what they have done, the democrats, is they have invented this phony war on women. They say Republicans are against women, there's not really a war on women, there's a war for women because they would like to have as many women vote for their candidate.

than the monkeys at the DC zoo! I think there is just too much evidence, especially in the past
few months to say there is a 'phony' war on women. Nothing phoney about it, it is fact.

Found this post on TALKINGPOINTSMEMO in response to young Doocy

-Every GOP Senator voted AGAINST Equal Pay for Women Act
- Every GOP Senator voted AGAINST Al Franken's Anti-Rape Amendment

- Every GOP member vote FOR Anti-Safe Abortion Legislation

- Every GOP member vote FOR Blunt/Rubio Anti-Women's Equal Health
Coverage Amendment. While Blunt/Rubio Amendment does not allow employer
to deny men employee health coverage for Vasectomy, the Blunt/Rubio
Amendment allows Employer to deny female employees & female
dependents: contraception, tubes tied, and hysterectomies.

- GOP Redefine Rape

- GOP write legislation to probe metal prongs up a woman's vagina

- GOP change legal term for victims of rape, stalking, and domestic violence
to "accuser"

- GOP write legislation that could make it legal to murder a doctor who
provides abortion care. (South Dakota GOP)

- GOP write legislation to cut nearly a billion dollars of aid to low-income
pregnant women, mothers, babies, and kids.

- GOP write legislation that would let hospitals allow a woman to die
rather than perform an abortion necessary to save her life.

- GOP write law cutting ALL funding for low-income kids saying "Women
should really be home with the kids, not out working (Maryland)

- GOP Cut Funding for Head Start, by $1 Billion.

- Two-thirds of the elderly poor are women: GOP write Bill to CUT
funding for employment services, meals, and housing for senior citizens.

- GOP Candidates for President vow and pledge to Cut Funding for Planned
Parenthood.

- GOP voted for a Amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned
Parenthood health centers.

- GOP write Bill to eliminate all funds for Federal Family Planning Program.

- GOP Write Bill to Provide Contraception for wild horses but ENDS
all Federal Funding for Family Planning, including contraception
coverage. (Dan Burton(R))

Each and every one of these items is infuriating, but all together they add up to a war on women. Women should NEVER support republican candidates.

Thanks for that list, even though it did raise my blood pressure.

Peace!

and speed up the demise of a propaganda network?

Sell off the assets, pay it back to the U.S. taxpayers as repatriation to listening to his propaganda machine. $10,000 tax-free dollars to each individual should do it.

They could have talked about anything they wanted. They choose to talk about abortion and contraceptives. Certainly not Obama. If Obama can control the stupid stuff that comes out of Santorum and Romney's mouth, I figure the GOP might as well give up on this election now.

13. The Fox News Party

The GOP, as we knew it, vanished in 2008. In 2010, the Fox News Party, won sweeping victories across the nation.

Since then, we have seen outright war against workers, the poor, the elderly, minorities, and women.

In response we have seen a grassroots rise from those affected. Everything from occupy to the NAACP to women's groups have become activated and inspired. Apathy is giving way to political discourse.

It is perfectly fine with me if the Fox News Party wants to label them as Democrats.

Message to Fox News: Liberal is no longer a dirty word.

I think that is why I am noticing a lot of women I know who were formerly rather apolitical/apathetic seriously discussing politics and identifying as liberals. The GOP has exposed itself for what it is and women have noticed.
