They aren't going to think outside the box, because if they did the corporatist right's message couldn't be guaranteed. Todd will keep the message on target. And, he'll keep the viewers away.

They have a potentially large following. There is a need for serious discussions and serious questioning of political, business, and arts leaders, movers and shakers.

It could be a gold one, but for one problem. NBCs admin has their heads so far up their ass that their idea of having "that vision thing" involves a polyp. Cancerous, no doubt.

Why would someone decide to go on a Sunday show where they faced serious discussions and serious questions?

"Let's see, I can go to MTP with (someone other than Todd) and have to answer real questions, or go on ABC, say whatever I want, and reach the same number of houses. Decisions, decisions."

Bear with me; I'm not messing with you...

In the episode, some network bigwig is wondering why the studio's latest sitcom is flopping. To his dismay, he discovers that his tween daughter would rather watch Carly's web show, so he buys it... and then little by little, he destroys all the things that made the show appealing. Eventually, Carly and her friends quit and the bigwig revamps the show yet again, and it ends up being a slightly revised version of the original lame-ass sitcom.

Like the fictional bigwig on iCarly, the bigwigs at NBC apparently only know how to churn out one kind of crap and wouldn't know how to handle something better if they had it.

Todd was next in line after Russert, but he wasn't ready to take the slot when Russert passed. So, he had to sit and accept being the Contributing Editor to MTP until Gregory burned out.

Now it's his turn to go forth and further destroy MTP, he must be so excited.

He was getting bored with Gregory's same old fluffing technique. McCain is still the star of that sitcom clown show. It's in his MSNBC contract.

The gimmick may work for a little while but the American People are becoming too aware for that to last.

They have deodorant and toothpaste and a corporate agenda to sell.
Don't look to NBC, CBS, Fox, CNN or ABC or Time-Warner to care about truth.
Gregory's problem was that he was doing a very bad job of selling their message. He was too blatant.

Chucky will be just the same but will try to be less obvious.
Does media care about ratings or message more? Ask Limbaugh who still draws $50 million a year as he takes ClearChannel down the shitter.

Gregory was unimpressive and annoying, so it's a slight improvement, but only in the short run. They need someone more worldly with more gravitas (that word is so overused but it fits here), not some youngish corporate shill.
