#IfTheyGunnedMeDown- Which picture would the media use?

Credit to MADem for the link… just wanted to start a thread dedicated to this. I'll be plastering this all over Facebook tonight.

Sorry if this is a dupe. If it is, just let me know and I'll self delete/link to other thread.

Many people questioned why other photos of Brown, showing him at his high school graduation or with family members, were replaced with the image above. That's how #IfTheyGunnedMeDown took off on Twitter and Instagram.

pictures of other races as well. I got to think the college pictures of many would be interesting to behold. This is why I have always instructed my daughters to be careful with the images and statements they make on social media. When young people get together they often do foolish things. Pictures have no context. Also flashing a gang sign might have been a particular survival mechanism at the time. It is interesting how blacks shown with guns are usually considered a threat, but even my mom (a white 70 year old) was so proud of her new gun that she had a picture of it taken by my daughter (without my knowledge) to be put on Facebook. She later ends up in a questionable shoot you know what picture they will run. Her picture will still be perceived less negatively than a young male black person in the same context.
