Landlords and businesses will get two votes vs the people NSW Australia.

NSW Government Plans To Give Business 2 Votes Each In City Of Sydney Council Elections

SNIP

Premier Mike Baird said the change is an “opportunity for greater democracy” and that business was disenfranchised under the current system and wants a voice.

“That is something that no-one can oppose,” he said.

The move will give business up to 2 votes each in a gerrymander that dramatically swings electoral power away from around 100,000 residents currently on the roll.

It has the potential to dramatically influence the popular vote in the 2016 mayoral race, which Moore first won in 2004.

Under the existing system, there is a non-residential roll for business owners living outside the Sydney City Council area, but they must register to vote before each election. In 2012, only 1700-odd, around 2%, of non-residential voters did.

The proposed changes remain secret but it’s believed the plan is modelled on the City of Melbourne’s system and would automatically enrol all eligible businesses. Voting is compulsory and business owners would get two votes, a building landlord, two votes as well.

Local government minister Paul Toole says the new system is “fair” to business, which contributes nearly 80% of Sydney’s rate base.

This is pure corporate fascism, and we are well on the way, anyway, with the TPP and other "trade" agreements.
Those enable corporations to sue, in a corporate court, over any law or regulation they feel hampers their profits.

This is why I cannot vote for Hillary, no matter who the fuck her VP is - she will be IN CHARGE, and the Clintons love those trade agreements. Talk about super neocons.

Maybe Romney had spent time in Australia before his 'Businesses are people too' line. And you KNOW this is the sort of "democracy" the RWers want. As their human demographic shrinks, they need further dodges. I can see it now, they get something like this passed, then create hundreds of 'new businesses' per RW nutjob to spam the vote.

Say what you will but it's an outcome predicted by game-theory.

You can't protect against feudalism unless you force the rich to benefit society more than they benefit themselves. IOW, taxes on the rich must be at least 51%.

Union members to get THREE or even FIVE votes? I hope that they realize that without labor, the corporations, and landlords would be making nothing!

Dream and the common people have lost
Acutely conscious of the overwhelming opposition among ordinary people to the corporate agenda of austerity and militarism, Abbott spent the entire 2013 election campaign covering up the program that he was preparing to implement on behalf of the ruling class. Now that the election is out of the way, the business and media establishment has begun to bring forward its demands: with commodity prices falling and the mining investment boom collapsing, the incoming government must move rapidly to slash social spending, reduce corporate taxes, gut the public sector and impose more “flexible” workplace laws.
Oh and they have a lot of hate media of their own so that helps
Esp. Brought to them by the corps sponsoring the hate to enslave the unenlightened
