He is and will forever be an American hero for taking the stand he had. May he rest in peace for all the good work he's done, and for being so courageous in a body of government that has showed so little since.

the Bay Area was a haven of liberal Republicans, but all the liberal Republicans I know have either changed parties or no longer vote Republican.
