When The Media Treats White Suspects And Killers Better Than Black Victims

This is by no means standard media protocol, but it happens frequently, deliberately or not. News reports often headline claims from police or other officials that appear unsympathetic or dismissive of black victims. Other times, the headlines seem to suggest that black victims are to blame for their own deaths, engaging in what critics sometimes allege is a form of character assassination. When contrasted with media portrayal of white suspects and accused murderers, the differences are more striking. News outlets often choose to run headlines that exhibit an air of disbelief at an alleged white killer's supposed actions. Sometimes, they appear to go out of their way to boost the suspect's character, carrying quotes from relatives or acquaintances that often paint even alleged murderers in a positive light.

And this doesn't count how much in the past where the media were told lies about there being a "black suspect", and then proceeded to blast fake sketches all over their front pages, when in fact, the guilty party was white.

This is entrenched and systematic... lest we forget this -

Police said the girl's babysitter, who is not being named because she is a minor, planned a false home invasion in order to steal things from the residence. Her alleged accomplices included her 16-year-old boyfriend, and 18-year-old Ruben Benjamin, according to Fox News.

When officers arrived at the apartment, the babysitter allegedly told police that two armed black men had entered the residence and stolen things including a video game system, laptops, and Abby's iPod and piggy bank.

Investigators said the babysitter even tried pinning the crime on a black neighbor, who was taken in for questioning, according to the New York Daily News.

But when officers spoke to Abby, the little girl told them that the robbers were white, not black, and that they had ordered the little girl out of the house in order to steal.
