..used to be Wal Mart's #1 supplier for their cheap ass shit they push on the U S public. No so anymore! As the 'race to the bottom' ensues, now it's Viet Nam and some 3rd world Indonesian countries. It ends when people take a stand against the 'poison'.

China has a demographic time bomb in the offing, and it is not a strong nor healthy society. The idea that the future is a straight progression from the present (only more so!) is a foolish way to think of the future.

It may be that China's "economic miracle" may not even last a full generation...

Hi although I'm new too posting I've been lurking DU for years. Anyway, pardon my prose for I am not college educated just an average low wage working schlub. Anyway, lately I've been thinking and have sunk into major apathy because although I am working I'm not going anywhere. Just treading water and barely able to keep my head afloat. Every paycheck is spent on bills before I even get it, there's no such thing as upward mobility anymore , I'm lucky to cling too what I've got. Forget vacations or saving a little to put toward a future goal. I don't have any extra money for fun and I am living without running water. Mind you I work full-time but everything's gone up but wages. Worse than being financially poor however, is this feeling of apathy that has set in. It all seems so pointless, I feel like a mere debt slave , I work but am not seeing any fruit of my labor. Selling the lot, living out of my car and off of Gods Providence is starting too look more and more ike freedom to me. Thank you all for listening.

Thank you very much for reaching out with your compassionate response and pics. A garden is a great idea I have a 40 gal rain barrel that I've been using as a water source. At least, that's until the Swat Team confiscates it and arrests me for economic treason for failure too enrich the already rich monopoly called "public utilities" lol. Seriously, though I feel like the crap I'm working so hard too keep owns me... And believe you me there's no reward for being a responsible, bill paying, tax paying citizen if you fall on hard times due to job loss or health issues your creditors don't give you a break regardless of how responsible you've been. I feel like whatever I do it won't be enough they'll still keep coming at you with another bill, tax, fee, etc. Yup, a Vanagon is starting too look good.
