Ferguson....collision of same-old, same-old and justice.
I`ll bet the Ferguson`s old-boy control center is steaming with agitation and belligerence because all those African Americans are demanding things....and getting media attention while doing it. I also bet these same good old boys are hoping members of the media don`t dig too deeply trying to find reasons for this collective discontent. Too bad they`re not as fond of justice as they are talking points.
"No justice, no peace" and "Hands up, don`t shoot" are hardly radical positions, regardless of what the reactionary racists at Fox "News" say. It saddens me to think that many Ferguson citizens have to beg for their rights to be respected. There are Fergusons everywhere in this country.
Look at how many states are trying to make it more difficult to vote or unionionize or get affordable health insurance or keep kids safe from gun violence or even marry the person you love. Honestly, we have to get serious about sticking to basic principles. We have to demand our rights and stop voting for politicians who act like simple justice is a radical idea.
My hope is that some good will come of all this when the long-neglected citizens of all the Fergusons organize and vote.
