Sorry about the revolting YouTube source, but I couldn't find this press conference anywhere else on YouTube. First saw it buried on a news page on Yahoo's site under a bunch of other stuff, and the video wasn't a YouTube video so couldn't be posted directly here. The video on Yahoo also had really crap volume, but even with this YouTube one you might have to crank up the volume all the way and maybe even adjust your speakers.
Johnson talks about journalists behaving badly by not staying out of the way of the police and blocking the street when officers were in the middle of a gun clash... one journalist got trapped in the middle and had to be gotten to safety by police.
Asks for the peaceful protesters to do their protesting during daylight hours since it's apparently only at night that the violent people come out, and they use the peaceful crowd to hide in or behind making it unsafe for the peaceful protesters as well.
Many people arrested for shooting at police, throwing Molotov cocktails, rocks and other things though most of them are not only not from Ferguson they aren't even from MO.
He gets a bit emotional toward the end, and he's not happy with how the media has been "glamorizing" the violent criminals. Two men with guns were shooting at an apartment complex, and when the officers went in to arrest them some dingbats in the media raced in with their cameras. This seems to be the event where the one journalist got trapped in between gunfire.
Things are so much worse than I thought there and the media though right in the middle of this chaos night after night has not been portraying it rather focusing on the police instead.
I'll keep looking for someone else on YouTube to put up the same video so I can dump this one just because of the nauseating source.

(17,064 posts)... at peaceful protestors and journalists, they would have the extra manpower to go after looters and anarchists.

Why are the police in charge at all? Where are the community leaders?
