General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs the McCullough "led" grand jury also going to be 93% white folk? Does it reflect the diversity of
Ferguson as much as the police force, town council and the school board reflect its diversity?
Can they find enough black folk not scared to serve because of the 3 warrants per household warrants issued in Ferguson by the same police force whose distinguished white member is the subject of the grand jury murder investigation?
Is it a murder investigation? Or what?
Can anyone find out, is it a secret also?
What does "a jury of your peers" mean? The peers of the accused are all white, but the community is mainly black, are those his peers?
Is the grand jury so secret we should all just STFU and wait for the grand news three months from now or .......whenever?
Do I see a pattern, have I lost it with these connections and the trail of dots leading to some crazy conclusion?

(29,853 posts)So a racially balanced jury would be 70.3% White (68.9% Non-Hispanic White), 23.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 3.5% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.9% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races.

Grand jury deliberations are supposed to be done in secret. The only people who are allowed to talk about it are the actual witnesses who testify.

(5,957 posts)As I understand the process, Grand Juries sit for a specified term and are not selected to hear a particular case. The proceedings are always secret.
I'm not a lawyer. If there are any attorneys here, please weigh in.
