(45,251 posts)1. I have a feeling Holder may have had a chat with Nixon
about military vs law enforcement, about protesting citizens vs. military enemy.
OT, but am I the only one noticing it's Nixon and Johnson time again?

(85,971 posts)2. I thought the same last night as I watched the police presence and response
. . .much more muted - complete with an 'assembly zone' for demonstrators to congregate without harassment.
Still a good deal of unnecessary arrests, though, including some observers, so . . . I'm really not sure what concrete impact he had on the ground.

(45,251 posts)3. Arresting protestors is bad enough, but not as bad as say, Kent State.

. . . at demonstrators, people, and press would complete that analogy?

(45,251 posts)5. Nope. Especially not when the pointing of weapons is accompanied by promises to kill.
