America's total failure in Iraq? Ha.

Because we're now bombing our own weapons over there?

Ha.

It's a total success for the people who sold the shit. Because all that shit has to be replaced.

Oh, and they're also getting paid for the bombs and jets and fuel being used to destroy the shit they already got paid for.

War profiteering is a wheel. It goes round and round.

...and pays for the people who keep choosing to keep shooting.

George W. Bush, by this measurement, is the most successful American president in history. According to the metrics of those who elevated him and paid for him, he accomplished every goal he was sent to achieve. Tax cuts? Done. Crippled government? Done. Permanent war. Done and done.

And now we're bombing our own weapons.

Failure? Ha.

See?

1. It's a total failure for Americans, EXCEPT the profiteers of whom you speak.

Of course, it is "our" failure, sort of deserved, for allowing those cretins to run the country. If Gore had gotten enough votes that they couldn't steal it, there wouldn't have been a 9/11, and we'd all have been talking about how awful a job Gore did by continuing sanctions on Iraq for too long. And how Gore was an evil corporatist for doing a, b, and c, and not doing x, y, and z. Or something like that.

their mortgage, car payments, put food on the table, save for their pension plans... et al

All these war industries employ people. Start talking of closing all these factories, and you'll get the Union guys burning down townhalls...

It's more complex than it seems...

the solution to all of these problems is to cut funding for all social programs and then cut taxes, you know, because of Obama's national debt. Austerity Now!

Republican politicians have always told us government is bad and then they get elected and prove it. "See, we told you so!"

I've long suspected the main reason conservatives believe government is bad is because conservative governments are bad.

We churn up the soil utilizing political strife and unrest. Then we seed it with millions of dollars of outdated weaponry from defense contractors. Water it well with lots of corporate oil money and wait awhile. It will grow into beautiful garden Wall St investors can count on to pad those accounts a little. Every headless Iraqi child a stock bump.
