http://www.addictinginfo.org/2014/08/25/police-mercilessly-punch-defenseless-man-in-the-head-as-walmart-shoppers-watch-in-horror-video/Police were called to the store at 1:00pm to respond to concerns about an allegedly intoxicated man standing outside the front doors. After officers arrived on the scene, the man told them Im 911″ and went inside the store. An officers used a taser to take the unknown man down. But police didnt stop there. They decided to demonstrate what police brutality looks like as shoppers watched.
One officer mercilessly kept punching the man in the head while he was lying on the floor. Witnesses, who said police actions in Ferguson, Missouri have caused them to pay more attention to what police do, begged the officers to stop.
Please dont punch him like that. Please dont. Dont punch him no more, one customer can be heard saying in the background of a cell phone video of the incident.
Always the low blow. Always.

(18,998 posts)For a while when I went to a youtube video I would get an add for the NM state police that showed a swat team busting in a door dressed like ninjas and lots of yelling and shouting and boom booms...trying to recruit cops.
That is what they want, and it explains why Albuquerque cops kill a lot of suspects.

The drunk wasn't following directions and the cop lost it.
Cops do an ugly, often thankless job. However, they need better training in how to deal with drunks and crazy people.
Unfortunately, like Vogons, they'd find the job considerably less attractive if there wasn't as much shouting involved.

(9,126 posts)Akin to losing one's license to ethical or medical violations, cops should lose their ability to be employed if there are reports of brutality. Or better yet, some kind of cop credentialing system and accountability. They recruit those with violent tendencies, roid them up and then unleash them on the public.

(35,619 posts)one night I was in municipal traffic court and there were a couple cops in there. Both had big biceps and looked like they worked out a lot. In addition, they had tattoos like you wouldn't believe!
They looked clean cut but I do recall thinking it odd for a police officer to be that in shape. I mean, what about the donuts?
On the other hand, I was shopping for cat food in the grocery store and there was an officer in there who was not only quite handsome, but regular in size. He had on his uniform and some type of radio receiver. He was clearly shopping for cat food while on duty. He was also on his cell phone talking to his girlfriend or wife about what type of cat food to buy.
When he got off the phone, he asked me how many cats I had. I told him and he said, "I love my cat."
I don't know what to think of all this.

(55,894 posts)it becomes addictive.
Besides weight gain/muscle mass and strength gain, steroids also bring a feeling of invincibility and well being.
A lot of the dependance becomes psychological.
The ones who talk about taking them say they get older and see younger criminals who are bigger, stronger and/or frenzied on drugs and taking steroids and beefing up helps them cope.

As we saw in Ferguson, the police CAUSE violence. As soon as they show up, there is violence. When they are NOT there, things are peaceful. Same thing happened during OWS, once they showed up, the violence began.
Many people are now more afraid of THEM than they are of criminals.
Something needs to be done about them, they are a threat to the safety and well being of the people more often than not these days. Too many dead citizens at the hands of these thugs.
Enough is enough.

(25,485 posts)f he had been an African-American man, police probably would have shot him to death. Because as it turns out, statistics show police shoot black people more in this country than whites. This incident is another example of police brutality but its also an example of how white police officers treat white citizens differently than they treat black citizens.

(7,234 posts)...they'd still shoot his ass but say sorry afterwards.
Had he been a petite white women they'd slam her face into the floor
Had he been a black man they'd beat him mercilessly while screaming stop resisting
Had he been a white woman caught shoplifting they'd pounce on her and brutally kick her ass right in front of her young daughter.

(12,233 posts)You can tell the ladies at the store's body language was in the movement of wanting to help because internally her whole insides were telling her this was all wrong. And that cop had no reason to hit her. Of course she going to be upset and saying ugly things.. It's his job to be in control... The subsequent punching was needless and the little girl must have been absolutely terrified... bTW, she was shoplifting clothes for the little girl. In America today, it's what some feel they have to do to make it from one day to the next. I bet the store manager regrets calling the police. And I hope this lady sued the pants off the police! Along with the one who was pushed into the seat bench with no reason. The other 2, I think is over the top, but it is probably "justifiable" in today's standards... One had a gun on him and the other wouldn't "comply". Which brings up a whole other issue, when u r beating the crap out of someone, a body's natural instinct is to run and get away OR curl up in a ball to protect vital organs. Lying out flat in a flight or fight mode is exactly the opposite of what is taking over naturally in ones body instincts. It rarely ends well when it comes to these beat down items. The result is not compliance because of ones survival instincts naturally taking over in the situation.

(39,345 posts)The woman cop told him to roll over when he had the other cop laying on top of him. Just how is he supposed to comply?
I certainly do not trust cops. They have a mob mentality and have no compunction about brutalizing someone. What was that line in Blade Runner? If you aren't cop then you are little people? Seems like that vision has certainly come true.

(18,124 posts)he would be dead from bullets now. So yeah, white privilege is still a given here. What about the black man leaning on a toy gun that caused him to be shot and killed. Some racist ex-marine saw that and called police saying he/she, I think it was a woman, was afraid that scary black man was going to go crazy and start shooting people with toy gun. Police arrived shot him down like a dog.

to these guys, still doesn't change THE FACT unarmed black males are shot with far more frequency than with the shootings of unarmed white males. You're not going to change that fact. I never said the Ferguson type execution couldn't happen to a white male, it's just that it happens with MUCH less frequency than with black males. Period. You are not going to change that FACT by throwing up photos of white males who may or may not have done something to warrant what happened to them. Period.

At this point - their key focus is to beat up the banking, telecom, and mic industries. We can't blink without them breathing down our necks and making trouble.
I'll be interested to see when Greenwald/Snowden FINALLY release their full files/documents what they have to say about the links to OFAC/BIS and holding people financially and criminally responsible at 'corporations' if they fuck up and sell/give/ship to someone on the list. I now my 'peer' at the other three carriers - Greenwald/Snowden if what they've got is good . . .
Would have our names out there. I'm not afraid of having it out there. Those four names in print would tell us what they have is genuine. And we've never been interviewed by Greenwald - so he has full bandwidth to not protect sources - as we aren't.
