Biden was excellent in the debates; still, Obama should have replaced him with someone who would be a viable candidate in 2016.

So only six of forty-four vice presidents have ascended to the presidency through election.
13% chance is pretty slim odds to be crying about.

(72,790 posts)Not a huge Biden fan, but Biden has served well, aside from the occasional gaffe.
There are plenty of Democratic options for 2016. I don't think it would have made much sense to replace Biden just to get a frontrunner. It might be refreshing to see someone new, other than the previous VP, run.
