blackmail will not work Mr. Duncan

I just got an email from my child's school district. Because our state legislation would not tie state standardized testing to teacher performance Duncan did not renew our waivers from certain requirements from No Child Left Behind. Now my child's school and most schools in WA are now designated "failing". Well we could give a shit Mr Duncan. Take your state standardized tests and your teacher assessments and shove them where the sun does not shine.

In fact, standardized tests under NCLB are often poorly written and have very little to do with student achievement as a result. This is all about control: taking all democratic local control away and putting it, eventually, into the hands of large corporations and hedge funds. I hope your state can hold on.
