did Richard Haass actually COMPARE the NRA to AARP on Morning Joe today?

Geez, I get my coffee and settle in on the discussion about the 9 year old girl and the Uzi and next thing I know Haass is talking about how the problem is these "powerful special interests" with money and power controlling public policy, whether it be the NRA and guns or the AARP and policy for retired people. And then Joe starts his "extremists on both sides" routine...

I don't know why nobody challenged Haass for what he said...Joe says his usual blather, but isn't Haass supposed to be some big intellectual academic?

How is putting an Uzi in the hands of a little child in any way comparable to fighting for the elderly which affects or will affect just about every American, not just one group at one time?

I wish I could respond in email the way I used to but now they only have Twitter and I don't do that...maybe I should...
