A police officer fired the bullet that killed a crewmember of the long-running TV show Cops when officers responded to a robbery call, Omaha police said Wednesday.
The crewmember was identified as Bryce Dion, 38, who was working as the sound technician when he was killed Tuesday night by what Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer called "friendly fire." The other member of the Cops crew, cameraman Michael Lee, was unharmed.
Dion and Lee had followed police officers to a Wendy's restaurant where a robbery was reported to be in progress. When police confronted the suspect he fired twice, according to witnesses cited by Schmaderer. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect, 32-year-old Cortez Washington, multiple times. One shot also hit Dion.
It turned out that shot could not have come from Washington, because the suspect was only armed with an Airsoft pistol, which fires plastic pellets.

The courts have affirmed that the police can discriminate against high intelligence candidates for hiring purposes.

Unbelievable.

(7,234 posts)4. The media immediately tried to cover it up by calling it a "shootout"
Even if the person is unarmed they'll call it a "shootout" or an "exchange of gunfire" like they did after the Michael Brown killing.
A Missouri teenager is dead and a community outraged after a police officer opened fire during a shootout.

The police in Omaha unloaded 30 rounds into an occupied restaurant to take out a guy who had an airsoft pistol and in the process also took out a sound guy who undoubtedly behind them, think about that.
This show has been on air 26 years years and the first time a crew member was taken out was by a cop. Go figure. :eyes.

my gun into a bad guy and in the process shot through windows and nicked a bystander I would be in jail tonight charged with multiple felonies even though it was an accident.
Yet this "hero" gets a paid vacation and will never ever face any charges ever. It was just be written off as just "Friendly Fire" and a "tragic accident for all involved".
Unfuckingbelievable
