Christie needs a rectal exam to see if that is where that pig's brain is. He is so full of it.
As I have said often that I worked at DOL for 24 years. And all I saw were people who worked their butts off and played by the rules only to be raped by their employers. So many people came through my office whose pensions or retirements were outright stolen it was pathetic. Too many of them took their fate with grace when they should have tarred and feathered the managers and CEO.
When you take someone's pension or retirement at a time when they will never get a good job again that is just like killing them. Because you take away their means to support themselves when they may not be able to work again. You might as well take out a firearm and shoot them because in some cases you really do end their life.
Employers for the most part are now scum because they don't even want to give a person a paycheck actually. There are a lot of good employers but there are too many who are just plain predators now.
My wife and I know a young lady who just got a job that will pay her $11.00 and hour with benefits, which is good. The problem is that over the next 20 years that wage will have to double if she is going to be able to live a life and save for a retirement. Most jobs now are around $10 and hour and the GOP complains that that is too much.
We are in big trouble if the GOP takes this election. It is certain they will steal it if they can.

(10,337 posts)Hell, when I was working as a UNION Sheet Metal Worker, $11.00 per hour was what they took out of my check just to pay for health insurance! $11.00 per hour after taxes will barely buy you a happy meal for lunch! Fuck that! A real living wage is closer to $80.00 per hour. Especially when the CEO makes more in an hour than you make in a year.

(64,931 posts)2200 hours a year would make your premiums $24,200 a year. Really???? Even cobra is less than that.
I am confused by your math.

(10,337 posts)and after two major surgeries last year my co pays have almost bankrupted me. They certainly destroyed my credit.
The real cost of living is WAY beyond $11.00 per hour.

(10,337 posts)Remember, those of us with jobs subsidized those with no jobs. I can live with that. What I can't live with is the fact that, even though I have a good income, and spent a fortune on insurance, my credit rating is fucked because, I couldn't come up with 10 grand in co-pays as soon as they were due. As such, nobody will give me a home loan which is rediculous becaus I could easily afford a home. And that with the best insurance money can buy, unless you work for the government.
