Reflections on Citizen Activism

Over the past few months, we've seen some excellent results from people stepping forward in an organized way to fight back on issues like bank debit card fees, worker's rights in Wisconsin and Ohio, SOPA/PIPA, Komen vs Planned Parenthood and most recently the Justice for Trayvon movement.

While it's easy to be discouraged by the constant push by the Republicans and their corporate allies to take away rights and earned benefits, it has been invigorating to see that we are not powerless in these times. It feels like there has been an awakening and for that I am grateful. I am hopeful that this trend will continue to grow.
