George Zimmerman buys $79.84 worth of items from jail store

George Zimmerman is cooling his heals in jail, where he recently purchased a collection of items from the Seminole County jail store to help pass the time.

The Miami Herald recently tweeted a photo of a receipt from Zimmerman's $79.84 purchases that included playing cards, puzzle books, and Jolly Rancher candy.

Zimmerman also bought socks, a debit card for phone calls, Ivory soap, underwear, beef sticks, t-shirts, deodorant, chocolate cookies, and one orange. The purchase left $41.36 on Zimmerman's account.

I wonder how many rightwing-nuts will be sending him money.

so his dad will be able to take money from Zimmerman's website (where the paypal account is set up) and put it over into his jail account.

I betcha George knew before he set up that website that he'd be heading to jail soon.

Around here, if a relative or friend doesn't bring you stuff you need, you are out of luck.

Zimmerman will now have his day in court, and I hope the punishment fits the crime.

But, shoody police work, a DA refusing to charge, and a law legalising vigilatism are the co-culprits that must be dealt with.

The commissary offers a variety of essentials and "luxury items" for prisoners in accomadation. I would spend at least as much to kill time until I get out. Thank goodness that's all he's able to kill these days.

talented and we wanted him to start using what he had. Most jails will not let families/friends bring in things anymore because of smuggling in illegal items.

He explained that the jail also didn't like too many possessions because they use them to barter for influence and drugs. I guess that makes sense, but it turns prisons into stir crazy warehouses.

bought books (both educational and for enjoyment) for him and when he left we asked that he leave them for those who were still in prison. We had known this young man since he was a child and love him very much but he could not control his temper so he ended up in jail for fighting. I am happy to say that he is doing fine now.
