Compared to Others, My Unemployed Ass is Doing Well, and I Acknowledge That

Ten weeks ago today, I was let go from my job as a roofpeter for the Post. (And, yes, I felt dirty the whole time, but it was a chaypeck.)

I still have my unemployment benefits, though: I still have my apartment on the Island. (Staten, not Long.) I guess I'm just posting this because I realize that many, many unemployed Americans---including some on this very site---are having a much worse time of it than I.

To anyone and everyone reading this, I wish you luck. I haven't given up. Don't you!

The economy, or that you couldn't refrain from hollering "I can't BELIEVE this shit!" when you were proofing?

tell by the way they practice His teachings of "what you do to the least of my brethren, you do to me" and "judge not".

I bet He's pissed!

I've actually felt that way through this entire recession. I've managed to hold on to my job, keep a roof over my head and although I don't make a lot of money I make too much for food stamps so I guess I'm doing O.K.
Nothing like witnessing true tragedy to realize how lucky you are!!
