Dinner with the President

There were four of us. He was very gracious. I didn't speak much. I mostly listened. There was an official photographer, I'll get pictures at some point. I am completely overwhelmed. He was very down to earth, yet a little reserved. I am sorry I can't be more specific but I am still processing it.

if he showed them pictures of running though the jungle back when he was a kid and still had the bone through his nose but my better sense told me not to, until you typed what you typed then I thought what the hell so there it is. LOL

What an honor to be rubbing shoulders with someone who had dinner with this man our President. WOW

A very very classy steak and seafood place. I'm a vegan, they made special dishes for me. Food was the last thing on my mind though.

As I said I spoke little but did ask how he keeps his composure when surrounded by inanity. He said some is just his temperament, being raised in Hawaii. Also exercise helps him. He seems to have things in perspective.

He enjoyed talking to the man who tans hides for a living. And said his favorite thing to do is tour factories, and that an automobile plant that used to employ 2000 now has 200 because of technological advancements.

I think he was guarded with me cause I do stand up therefore am unpredictable. He didn't ask for a joke and I didn't volunteer though I had one ready.

I'm really glad to hear that he has things in perspective, and that exercise helps. It's got to be one an incredibly stressful job.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the experience, AndreaCG. I enjoy the personal anecdotes.

You seem to be ridiculing me. I have read articles wherein some people who met him said he smelled good.
I just wondered if she got a whiff of what he was wearing.
I do hope I'm just being too sensitive here.

I neglected to say I went to school with Elena Kagan. I think surprising him with that did me no favors. I can't undo it though.

I don't know if we will get only hard copies or a disc. If hard copies I will ask a photographer to transfer them to disc so I can share them. Maybe then this will truly seem real!
