The Denver Post endorses Democrat, General Irv Halter, over Republican, Doug Lamborn

http://www.denverpost.com/editorials/ci_26644195/oust-lamborn-restore-dignity-colorados-5th-cd

Oust Lamborn, restore dignity to Colorado's 5th CD

...

But Lamborn seems to have trouble according President Obama elementary respect. He also boycotted the State of the Union address in 2012 and once apologized for referring to the president as a "tar baby." And that only skims the surface of embarrassing missteps over the years.

Halter, who calls himself a "conservative Democrat," also takes Lamborn to task for voting to shut down the government despite the district's heavy reliance on federal payrolls, as well as for his general "lack of engagement" in the community. For example, he says, Lamborn refuses to debate him.

But why is that surprising, when Lamborn wouldn't debate a constituent who implied the president is a traitor?

Halter would bring a centrist voice to the 5th District — as well a level of dignity it sorely needs.
